Being a part of running history in the United Relay!

Next Wednesday, April 27th, 2016, runners will venture out from Seattle (San Francisco and Los Angeles legs start on other days) for the United Relay. They’ll run day and night until they reach New York. This is the first non-stop running relay! Yes, it’s running history in the making!

I’m so excited to be taking part in this event! I’ll be joining an amazing crew of people, including my Sweat Pink sisters, Flex & Flow team, and Aftershokz in running the initial 5k that kicks off the Seattle leg! I can’t wait to rock my Sweat Pink trucker and new Aftershokz headphones!

That’ll be us: decked out in pink and gramming while walking…

And my timing for replacing my running shoes couldn’t have been more perfect! (side note: it’s a little silly how excited I am about my new kicks!)

It’s #transformationtuesday… Out with the old and in with the new!

Beyond running with friends and being part of a race that’s making history, I’m stoked to try out this new technology! Aftershokz headphones use bone conduction and rest on your cheeks rather than being shoved inside your ear. They let you “tune in while tuning out,” allowing you to listen to music and take phone calls while still being able to hear your surroundings while out and about. Not to mention how uncomfortable and gross ear buds can be… As much as I love my system for listening to music while running in the city (aka I have one ear bud in and shove the other in my bra), I’m pretty excited to try these out!

Great cause, great gear, great friends. What else could there possibly be?! Oh yeah! The chance to meet Alicia Keys!

I even have discount codes for you runners! Click here for 30% off Seattle registration, and here for 30% off everywhere else. Or you can sponsor a runner. Here’s a link to sponsor me! I chose for all donations made for my run to go toward Seattle’s Childrens Hospital.
